began in 2016 when a dream became reality on the Crystal Coast of North Carolina. Owner and entrepreneur Alex Locke always dreamed of owning her own business and having the freedom to design and create a unique and memorable experience through her work. 

 

Having grown up in the foothills of North Carolina, Alex moved to Charlotte where she earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business, Management, and Marketing. Along with her love for creativity, Alex was eager to make a brand of her own. As an emerging entrepreneur and business woman, Alex started a small business and successfully sold her handcrafted products to local customers and individuals throughout the United States through various online marketing platforms, including Etsy. After a few years of growth and while living in Emerald Isle, NC, Alex decided to take a leap of faith and write the next business chapter: Birchwood Boutique was born.
